               उत्तर प्रदेश की राजधानी लखनऊ में फर्रुखाबाद के पूर्व विधायक विजय सिंह की बहू एकता पर उनके घर में घुसकर एक युवती वीरांगना सिंह ने जानलेवा हमला किया है। पता चला है कि आरोपी महिला उनके पति की महिला मित्र हैं, जिन्‍होंने फ्लैट में घुसकर हमला किया है। आरोप है कि युवती ने पूर्व विधायक की बहू एकता का गला दबाकर उन्‍हें मारने की कोशिश की। एकता ने अपनी बहन की मदद से जान बचाई। एकता का आरोप है कि हमलावर युवती उनके पति को अपना बता रही थी हजरतगंज के कसमंडा हाउस अपार्टमेंट की यह घटना है।
29 मई की सुबह ये घटना बताई जा रही है। इस मामले में विजय सिंह की बहू एकता ने वीरांगना सिंह पर एफआईआर दर्ज कराई है। वीरांगना सिंह विजय की बहू एकता के पति अविनाश की मित्र है। हजरतगंज पुलिस इस मामले में एफआईआर दर्ज कर जांच में जुट गई है।
पुलिस को दिए बयान में एकता ने बताया है कि 29 मई की सुबह वीरांगना सिंह उनके फ्लैट में आईं इस समय घर में वह और उनकी बहन थीं। उनके पति अविनाश घर पर नहीं थे। यहां वीरांगना सिंह उनके पति अविनाश को लेकर कहने लगी कि वह सिर्फ उनका है और तुम्हें (एकता) मरना होगा। इसके बाद वीरांगना सिंह ने उनके ऊपर रॉड से हमला किया। एकता ने आरोप लगाया कि इसके बाद वीरांगाना ने गला दबाकर मारने की कोशिश करने लगी। इस दौरान उनकी बहन ने किसी तरह से उनकी जान बचाई। बता दें कि विजय सिंह समाजवादी पार्टी से पूर्व विधायक हैं और इस समय ब्रह्मदत्त द्विवेदी हत्याकांड में जेल में सजा काट रहे है।
